This session supports educators in understanding the wide developmental range within school-age programs, particularly when children ages 4–12 are in the same environment. Educators will explore how development impacts behaviour, independence, regulation, peer relationships, and expectations.

School-Age Educator Community of Practice Series
This year-long virtual professional learning series supports before and after school educators in strengthening their understanding of school-age development, transitions, behaviour, family communication, shared spaces, responsive program planning, and educator regulation.
Each 90-minute session includes a balance of:

● real-life school-age examples
● strategies educators can apply immediately
● digital resources to support implementation
● opportunities to build shared language across programs
