Rooted in Relationship: Connection Through the Lens of Attachment

Type: Virtual

Date: Thursday, December 9 Time:7:00pm-8:30pm

Facilitator: Julie Male, Nicole Leveque, Mental Health Consultant

This professional learning session explores how strong, trusting relationships form the foundation for children’s emotional regulation, learning, and overall well-being. Educators will deepen their understanding of connection as a biologically driven process that helps children monitor and respond to real or perceived threats in their environment. Through this lens, participants will examine why connection matters and how children’s behaviours reflect their unique ways of seeking closeness, safety, and support from trusted adults. This session provides an accessible overview of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their relationship to stress responses and behavioural challenges in the classroom. Educators will leave with increased confidence in using connection-based, trauma-informed approaches to support all children especially those who need connection the most.

This session requires a minimum of ten participants. Participants will be notified a week in advance if cancellation is necessary.
