Keynote with Teacher, Researcher and Consultant, Dr. Shelley Moore
Inclusion in early learning and community care is not just a concept, it’s felt in relationships, environments, and everyday moments. In this session, through humour and real-world stories, Dr. Moore unpacks what has changed, what hasn’t, and what comes next. Participants will reexamine what inclusion means through updated lenses of diversity, identity, and belonging. Together, we will look at five guiding conditions for how to build inclusive communities in early learning and community care settings.
Join Dr. Shelley Moore for a dynamic keynote focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in the identity area of Disability. By sharing compelling stories, she invites the audience on an impactful journey, highlighting the importance of inclusive education for all. This keynote will serve as the launch of the Infrastructure of Inclusion Series beginning on Septermber 21.

Based in British Columbia, Canada, Dr. Shelley Moore is a highly sought-after inclusive education researcher, teacher, consultant and storyteller. She has worked with school districts and community organizations around the world. Her research explores how to support teachers to design for all learners in grade level academic classrooms that include students with intellectual disabilities using strength based and responsive approaches. Shelley completed her undergraduate degree in Special Education at the University of Alberta, her Masters at Simon Fraser University, and her Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia.
