Understanding and Supporting Healthy Sexual Development in Children

Type: Virtual

Location: Virtual

Date: Wednesday, May 15 Time: 7:00 – 8:30 pm

Presented by: Laura Brunsting and Nicole Woods, Mental Health Consultants, CMHA

Childcares aim to support the whole child across all areas of development. In this presentation we will reflect on how our attitudes and experiences may impact our comfort level with supporting healthy sexual development in children. We will become familiar with typical sexual development and explore situations when behaviour is concerning. We will also review some practical steps to help educators assess and respond to children’s sexual exploration and development within the context of case scenarios across different age groups. The goal of this presentation is to build the confidence and comfort level of educators as they support healthy sexual development in children.

You will receive an email with a link to the meeting prior to the session.
