How are you currently thinking about young children's experiences with sound and music? We often say how children are hands-on, sensory-based learners...so what does that mean for the sounds that we encourage or discourage in early learning programmes? Our adult brains are good for many things, but they sometimes filter out information that can be really meaningful to young children. Through this short, asynchronous module, you will have the opportunity to reflect on the role of sound and music within in your practice, and to connect with colleagues sharing in this wondering. Let's think together about what we consider to be background noise, and what sound might be taken up with pedagogical inquiry and curriculum building!
Please note, this module is housed within the "Exploring Materials Series" online space, under the "exploring sound" unit.
