Expanding Our Outdoor Practices
Type: In-Person Learning
Location: Aboyne Trails, 552 Wellington Rd. 18, Fergus ON (meet in Aboyne Library parking lot)
Date: Saturday, June 18, 2022 - Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
What might it feel like to embrace Canadian summers with a child-like wonder? Can you recall your first Canadian summer experience? Have you had an opportunity to reflect on (or first encounter) your relationships with worms, butterflies, dandelions, and mud? We know that young children interact with the outdoors for the first times through their senses, so what better way to embrace this fresh mindset for ourselves by reigniting our own sense of wonder, sense of place and our sense of adventure through a rejuvenating outdoor experience in community.
Together, let’s reconnect with our senses, ourselves, each other, and the natural world by experiencing the joy of the summer season and the magic of being together in exploration through a hike in the woods. We will walk away from this session feeling inspired about facilitating nature connections with children, ideas for new possibilities for experiencing the outdoors with children, and a refreshed interest in documenting meaningful encounters between children and the natural world. Join us on this hike in Elora with a sweet treat at the end!
**Due to unforseen circumstance, please note the location has changed for this event. We will now be walking along the trails in Aboyne, that follow the Gorge. Please meet in the parking lot at the Aboyne Library**
If you have any questions about the new location, please do not hesitate to reach out.
