Process vs. Product-Orientated Art
Type: In-Programme Professional Learning
While some may argue for the benefits of product-focused art, or art projects, for the ways that children can learn through creating an end-product, over the years we have learned that pre-determined outcomes for art may hinder the child’s creative expression. This team meeting session invites participants to explore the ways that product-oriented art may limit creative expression, and how process-focused art experiences provide a full host of developmental benefits through creative experiences for young children.
