Big Emotions

Type: In-Programme Professional Learning

Presented by: CMHA Consultants

Children tend to feel and look regulated in calm water, but as the water shifts to ripples, small waves and then large waves, so does their ability to regulate. What if we could identify how children are feeling in the rippled water and offer support before they become dysregulated in the waves? Join us Tuesday, September 13, or Thursday, September 29 as we dig deeper into children's emotions. This workshop will explore emotional regulation, emotional literacy and managing big emotions for children birth to 12. Together we will reflect on how we, as educators, can shift our mindset from seeing children's emotions and behaviours as negative to appreciating and fostering the positive connection children are seeking in these moments. We will discuss the way we respond and proven tips and strategies on how to meet the needs of the children who are feeling these big feelings.

This event is being delivered by an external organization from the County of Wellington and as such your name and email address may be provided to CMHA for training purposes.
