We often say we see children as competent and capable, but do we stop to think about what “competency” really means?
During this team meeting session we will define competency by:
- unpacking what competency means with young children,
- considering how our interpretation of competency impacts our work with children,
- examining situations when we may anticipate or expect competency, and
- exploring examples of when it may be inappropriate to expect competency in young children.
