Welcome to Early Learning

This session provides a road map for participants to understand why ongoing professional learning is important, how we learn, and the value of reflective practice. The presentation incorporates the tenets of metacognition and reflective practice, which are woven throughout the various sections, seeking to provide learners an opportunity to experience these principles in a practical, embodied way. Examples relevant to the early learning field are used to highlight different kinds of knowledge and processes for learning. In addition, this presentation provides resources to support reflective practices and ongoing learning. This session is ideal for new educators, educators looking for resources for reflective practice, or for anyone who would benefit from a refresher about the importance of professional learning and reflective practice.
